Moldova has made serious claims against Ukraine
The Moldovan delegation to PACE should not have supported Ukraine to the detriment of its own interests by voting against the return of the Russian delegation.
Political scientist and socialist deputy of the Moldovan parliament Bogdan Tsydrea wrote about this on Facebook today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, it is good to protect and promote the interests of Ukraine. But maybe sometimes you need to promote your national interests? Let us remind you that Russia is Ukraine’s first trading partner even at the end of 2018, and the largest gas supplier! Poroshenko himself owns factories in Russia. That is, there is no complete break in relations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. So why should we do this?” Tsydrya wrote.
He recalled that Moldova has many unresolved problems with Ukraine.
“Ukraine has not abandoned the construction of 7 hydroelectric power stations on the Dniester, which will deprive us of drinking water. She banned teaching in Romanian/Moldovan in schools! Ukraine allowed Plahotniuc and Shor (oligarchs removed from power) through its territory Ed.), allowing them to escape. The Poroshenko regime worked in conjunction with the PDM to smuggle amber, alcohol, and drugs! This is a fact,” the Moldovan politician emphasized.
Two of the three Moldovan deputies in PACE voted for the return of the Russian delegation. This is a member of the pro-Russian Socialist Party, Vlad Batrincea, and the leader of the DA Platform, Andrei Năstase.
PDS deputy Mihai Popšoi opposed the return of the Russian Federation, explaining this by saying that his “partners in Kyiv” asked him to do so. Năstase, who holds the post of Minister of Internal Affairs in the new government, was criticized in his homeland by right-wing and nationalist politicians.
“Nastase should have made an attack against Russia exactly on the same day when President Dodon achieved the removal of VAT and customs duties on our agricultural products to Russia?! And just before the start of negotiations with the Russian Federation on a new gas contract and, possibly, a discount on gas! And then it takes a long time to explain to our farmers and peasants why their plums and apples are rotting in the orchards!” Tsydrya summed up.
Thank you!
