Another act of vandalism in Moldova
The “Monument to the Victims of the Holocaust” in Kosouti was desecrated by vandals in Moldova.
This was reported by the Jewish Community of Moldova, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Vandals damaged elements of the memorial steles, scratched the inscriptions and knocked off the foundations of the memorial,” the community reports.

Acts of vandalism in Moldova have become systematic in recent years. In May, the Great Patriotic War memorial in the Moldovan city of Vulcanesti was desecrated. At the end of April, unknown persons stole all the stands of the “Remember Me” photo exhibition dedicated to Victory Day, which were placed on the fence of the central park in Chisinau.
In March, vandals sawed a monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War in the Moldovan village of Ivancha into scrap metal. In February, a memorial in the village of Rusca, Hincesti region, was desecrated.
At the beginning of November 2020, unknown persons defaced the monument to Soviet commander Grigory Kotovsky in the city of Hincesti, which until 1990 was called Kotovsk. In July, vandals broke the facing tiles at a military burial site of the Great Patriotic War in the village of Gura Bicului. In April, a memorial plaque with the names of Soviet citizens executed during the fascist occupation was destroyed on site in one of the parks in Chisinau.
In November 2019, unknown persons destroyed memorial granite slabs on the walls of the long-term firing point of the 417 Stalin line, located on the outskirts of the village of Koshnitsa, Dubossary district
