A citizen of Transnistria was kidnapped in Moldova
Former Transnistrian law enforcement officer Andrei Samoniy was kidnapped in Moldova.
This was reported by the First Pridnestrovsky TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
A week ago, Samoniy and his wife went to one of the Moldovan villages to complete documents. Near the administrative building, three unknown men approached the couple. They said that her husband, Andrei Samoniy, was allegedly a witness in some criminal case. The man was taken away in an unknown direction.
Where he is is still unknown.
The PMR Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent an official letter to the special representative of Moldova for the negotiation process with a demand to inform about the whereabouts of the citizen of Transnistria.
The Moldovan Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime confirmed in the media the fact of the detention of Andrei Samonia. He is one of the defendants in the case dating back to 2015.
He is accused of kidnapping a Moldovan family from the village of Vertyuzheni. The Moldovans were allegedly demanded to admit to stealing rabbits on the territory of Transnistria. On the fifth day they were handed over to Moldovan police from the Floreni commissariat.
A kidnapped citizen of Transnistria is being held in a prison in Balti. The court issued a warrant for his arrest for 30 days.
