Moldova decided to transfer all Pridnestrovians
The Supreme Council of Transnistria will send a statement to the Parliament of Moldova regarding the introduction of an article “for separatism” in the Moldovan criminal code.
All citizens of the PMR can fall under its action, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We hope that prudence will prevail, and these amendments will not be adopted in the second reading,” Vice-Speaker of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva said today, noting that the PMR will take retaliatory measures.
According to the new article of the Moldovan Criminal Code, representatives of the authorities of Transnistria will become “anti-constitutional subjects.”
“The MGB of Transnistria is a well-organized structure that has the ability to carry out illegal intelligence and counterintelligence activities. And counteraction to such activities is not provided for in our criminal code,” said Olesya Stamate, chairman of the legal commission of the Moldovan parliament.
Political scientist Sergei Shirokov considers the article “for separatism” a serious threat.
“If this norm is adopted, all Pridnestrovians who have citizenship of the Republic of Moldova will be subject to sanctions. This will concern not only the leadership of the republic and citizens working in state executive bodies, but also every ordinary Pridnestrovian who loves his country and is proud of it. With the adoption of these bills, problems with freedom of movement are getting worse. Problems may arise for journalists, for business, for humanitarian ties. They are creating new rules of the game, according to which Chisinau will determine how to live in Pridnestrovie,” Shirokov said in an interview with TSN TV channel.
The article “separatism” carries a penalty of 2 to 7 years in prison; for “incitement to separatism” - a fine of 1500 euros. The draft passed its first reading in parliament. It is expected to be adopted early next year. Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Igor Grosu said that such a law should have been adopted 30 years ago.
“Everything is very serious. Soros doesn't like jokes. Serious repressions are planned,” wrote opposition Moldovan MP Bogdan Tirdea in his TG channel.
At the same time, Chisinau announced that they were preparing a new plan for the reintegration of the country, but were keeping it secret from Tiraspol.
“Moldova is preparing a new plan for the return of Transnistria. The role of Romania and the EU in the negotiation process should increase, taking into account Moldova’s European path,” said Moldovan Vice-Speaker for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian.
The PMR Foreign Ministry has already sent an official request to Chisinau demanding a comprehensive explanation of the scandalous bill. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Transnistria Vitaly Ignatiev said that the implementation of destructive changes in the Moldovan criminal code occurs against the backdrop of increasing degradation of the negotiation process and dysfunction of the “5+2” format.
