In the sea near Odessa, Ukrainians detained smugglers flying the Tanzanian flag with shooting
The Ukrainian Navy, together with the Military Counterintelligence of the SBU and the State Border Service, on the eve of the New Year, December 31, detained a ship flying the flag of Tanzania, which was suspected of transporting illegal goods.

The department's press service reported this on Facebook, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the last hours of 2017, a ship flying the Tanzanian flag was discovered in the territorial waters of Ukraine, which was reasonably suspected of transporting illegal cargo,” the report says.
The missile boat “Priluki” came out to intercept, trying to establish radio contact with the captain of the ship and demanding to stop.
There was no answer, moreover, the ship tried to escape, so the Priluki opened warning fire.
“The intruder vessel was detected by technical surveillance equipment abeam the settlement. Resort, within the territorial waters of Ukraine, did not respond to the call, so the missile boat “Pryluki” began to pursue it. Having determined that the attempt to escape from the Ukrainian military boat was futile, the vessel contacted and was questioned in accordance with the procedures established by international maritime law. However, the offending vessel did not comply with the requirement to stop. In order to force the cessation of illegal actions, the missile boat “Priluki” opened warning fire from an artillery mount in the direction of the vessel, which was stopped and escorted to the port of Odessa,” the Ukrainian Navy reported.
