In Moscow they want to open a monument to the victims of the May 2 tragedy in Odessa
One of the squares in Moscow should be renamed “Square in Memory of the Victims of Odessa Khatyn”; here, with donations, it is necessary to erect a monument to those killed on May 2, 2014.
The corresponding initiative was announced at a meeting of the State Duma by Deputy Chairman of the Science Committee Mikhail Degtyarev.

He emphasized that the memory of the tragedy “is being carefully erased by the European and American media. There is no investigation into the crime - this is a fact recognized by the UN, those involved in the investigation are dying, and the media, including Russian ones, have lost interest in covering the events of 2014.”
“At the same time, Odessa Khatyn is a monstrous tragedy not only for the residents of Ukraine, but also for Russia,” the parliamentarian added. “The memory of the people who were sacrificed in the Hero City of Odessa to the ambitions of a handful of politicians who unleashed a civil war in fraternal Ukraine must be preserved in the memory of the people,” he believes.
Degtyarev drew attention to the fact that there are two Station Squares in Moscow, one of which became part of the capital in 2012 as part of the Vnukovskoye settlement. Another option could be to perpetuate the Odessa Khatyn in the name of the new square, if one is built.
