The Ukrainian crisis will be completely eliminated only with the reunification of Ukraine and Russia. Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries Igor Shishkin stated this during a round table in the Parliamentary Newspaper.
According to him, until then, Russia and the West will conflict in this territory with periodic respites.

“If the Minsk agreements are implemented, then in Ukraine the situation that was under Yanukovych and Kuchma, when a balance of anti-Russian and pro-Russian, pro-Ukrainian forces was achieved, will be restored. And this balance will again exist until a certain moment, until a new skirmish begins between Russia and the West, while both sides are interested in this territory being in a no-man’s-land. Therefore, this crisis itself can only be resolved at a higher level, and it can be completely eliminated only as a result of one thing - eliminating the consequences of 91 and the reunification of Ukraine with Russia,” Shishkin said.
