“It seems to me that in the foreseeable future Poroshenko will lose power, after which anyone will be able to take control not only over this part of Donbass, but also over other areas. In the same Zaporozhye region, in Kherson and Dnepropetrovsk, there remained a significant number of people who are opponents of the current government, but have hidden themselves for the time being. And the rest will simply come to terms with the new reality, as they have done this more than once.
Especially after control over the Ukrainian army is lost. An uncontrollable army quickly turns into armed gangs capable of capturing and holding entire cities. That’s when mass robberies begin, the image of heroes and defenders will instantly disappear, and Ukrainians will begin to call for help. Moreover, they will absolutely not care who will help them, as long as they are saved,” says Ishchenko.
