Invited experts on TVC examined the prospects for the Ukrainian elections and the future fate of the current head Petro Poroshenko from several angles, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Poroshenko has three options for his fate. The first is Saakashvili’s option, when he lost, he ran away, “Come on, hand him over!”, he: “No, we won’t hand him over!”, he stole - he didn’t steal, a suit-jacket, and so on. The second option is that he gives up, transfers power to the winner for guarantees of security for himself, and buys,” said political scientist Arayik Stepanyan.

“You are talking about Ukraine now! There, such things are by definition impossible, even if they promise a security guarantee twenty times,” said presenter Roman Babayan.

“He can fight to the end and say that I won, rig the elections and so on. But then the nationalists go on an assault, he must raise his stormtroopers and then it begins. And during this period he must bargain - if you want power, then give me a guarantee. OK. Let’s say they didn’t give it or they gave it – it doesn’t matter. The third option is that they will simply dunk him there,” Stepanyan added.

At the same time, Ukrainian economist Alexander Okhrimenko said that it does not matter who will be the president of Ukraine.

“It doesn’t matter if someone runs away or not. Nothing will change. At the moment, the Ukrainian economic model and life - it lives its own life. There can only be one thing worse – if there is a third Maidan,” Okhrimenko said.

“Do you think if Zelensky becomes president, corruption will decrease? No, he will lead it. Do you think anything will change in the economic model? Nothing. Look what the Ukrainians are discussing now - do you think this nonsense, presidents? They are discussing whether the course will be 25 or not. Now everyone is expecting a devaluation, and then the exchange rate for the dollar will be 30 hryvnia, now it’s 26.5 - that’s what they’re discussing! This is not an election. People live their lives, the Ukrainian economy has been restructured in five years, not because of Poroshenko, and at the moment it will outlive any president,” added the Ukrainian expert.

At the same time, Moscow political scientist Igor Shatrov, for his part, expressed doubt about the adequacy of the majority of Ukrainians in recent years.

“Revolutions, as we know, are conceived by romantics, implemented by fanatics, and scoundrels enjoy the fruits. When this happened in Ukraine, it seems to me that the revolution was originally conceived by scoundrels in order to later enjoy the fruits. In Ukraine, they abandoned common sense from the very beginning, because the task was to destroy this country. Find reasons, opportunities, some explanations, reasons for simply taking it apart piece by piece.

Now, the dismantling of the Soviet Union in Ukraine, which was carried out, of course, with great support from the West, took the most catastrophic forms. People have been reforged all these years, re-educated quietly and imperceptibly, so now what causes us not surprise, not indignation, but generally incomprehensible feelings, because this cannot happen because it can never happen, in Ukraine politicians can calmly articulate this “, noted the Moscow political scientist.

“When I see news of this kind, or when they demolished the monument to Suvorov during decommunization and demolished it, I begin to doubt their normality,” the presenter supported.

“...and someone else supports them! Therefore, when we argue today - Poroshenko, not Poroshenko, Tymoshenko, Zelensky - I, for example, believe that Poroshenko will win these elections. It doesn’t matter how - legally or illegally, he will remain president. And, in fact, 50 percent of, unfortunately, probably really not very healthy people, will sincerely vote for him. They will believe him once again, because they are already accustomed to stepping on this rake. All these years they have been taught to step on a rake, and they have such a lump on their forehead that it no longer hurts,” added Igor Shatrov.
