Moscow explained to Ukraine what needs to be done to continue gas transit
If Kyiv wants the Russian Federation to continue gas transit through Ukraine, it is time for it to end the war against Donbass and end its anti-Russian policy.
Russian publicist Nikolai Starikov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“If Ukraine, its authorities, wanted to receive money for transit, they would have to make Russian the second state language, take real steps towards ending the civil war in Donbass. There's a lot to do. But they do the opposite.
After this they say: “Why doesn’t Russia want to use their gas system”? Yes, because any citizen of Russia will say: “Don’t use this system, don’t transit gas through Ukraine.” So that this Russophobic, anti-people regime goes bankrupt. Do not finance those who shoot in Donbass at the peaceful Russian people who live there. Any citizen of Russia who lives in Donbass, Voronezh, Crimea, anywhere will say this.
This is Russia's position. And they are still surprised at something. And everything is turned upside down,” he said.
Moreover, Nikolai Starikov emphasized that it is time for Russia to stop trying to negotiate with the West, which initiated the coup in Ukraine in 2014.
“But we must understand that the West’s current position is not caused by any of our steps. It’s the same as, for example, when we return home in the evening, a group of hooligans approaches us and starts asking questions: do we have cigarettes, do we have our hats on correctly?
We understand that they want to beat, fight, because they want to fight, they are drunk, they need the contents of our wallet. And not because we really don’t have a hat or we don’t smoke.
The same thing – the civil war in Ukraine, the coup d’etat was initiated by the West in order to create a reason to put pressure on Russia, and not because Russia did something wrong,” the publicist concluded.
