The decision to simplify the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for residents of the Donbass republics is a demonstration that Moscow is no longer going to seek compromises with the Kyiv regime.
This opinion was expressed on the Rossiya 24 TV channel by Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries Igor Shishkin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why such hysteria? Yes, because Russia has shown that it is no longer going to seek compromises with certain groups in the Kyiv government, it is starting to work with the people of Ukraine, which the West is terrified of. In addition, all these last years we have been constantly looking for a compromise and achieving friendship: “Let’s live together.” And this shows that we are going to force peace. Don't want to comply with the Minsk agreements? We are moving towards granting citizenship.
