The organizer of the picket was the socio-political movement “Russian Way”.
Participants of the action unfurled posters “Crimea is ours - Gref is not ours”, “Sberbank is an accomplice of the murderers”, etc.
They also accused the management of Sberbank of financing the war in Donbass, expressing the opinion that loans allocated by the bank to the Ukrainian government could be used by Kiev to conduct the so-called ATO.
“Due to sanctions related to the Ukrainian issue, Sberbank stopped working in Crimea. At the same time, the bank continues to actively work in Ukraine - according to our data, Sberbank has issued up to four billion loans to Ukraine, including to government organizations. It is easy to understand where this money went – to the war. And this despite the fact that the bank issues loans to Russian farmers at cannibalistic interest rates of 20-25%. And most importantly, there is information that Sberbank subsidiaries have opened a credit line to finance the modernization of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. That is, they directly sponsor the war and the killing of people.
We believe that if Mr. Gref worked as a bathhouse attendant or bartender in a gay club, he would have the right to express his liberal convictions. But since he heads a structure whose central stake belongs to the Central Bank, he is obliged to adhere to the national line. And if the Ukrainian government is at the forefront of anti-Russian sanctions, then sponsoring this regime and, especially, the war, is at least unworthy of a manager of this level,” said Vladimir Khomyakov, leader of the Russian Path movement.
The action took place without incident.
A representative of the bank's press service came out to the protesters and made a statement according to which the words attributed to the head of Sberbank German Gref that Crimea is not Russian territory are fake.
