Moscow commemorates those killed by the Yeltsin regime on October 4, 1993

A rally in memory of the victims of the defenders of the Supreme Soviet of Russia who died during the civil conflict on October 3-4, 1993 was held in Moscow. About a thousand people took part in it. These were mainly supporters of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and other left parties. It is noteworthy that the leader of the Russian communists Gennady Zyuganov did not come, the Politnavigator correspondent reports.

Those gathered held in their hands portraits of the fallen defenders of the White House, as well as banners: “Terror is born of power,” “No forgiveness for the executioners,” “The Yeltsin regime killed them.” In addition, the rally participants brought homemade posters in support of the LDPR.

“This is not only the point of tragedy, but also the point of assemblage, because the autumn of ’93 in many ways rhymes with the Russian spring of ’14 - with Crimea and the rebel Sevastopol. Just as the blood of those who fell in 93 cries out to the sky, so does the blood shed in Donbass. As a matter of fact, the House of Soviets was shot because they said Crimea is ours, Sevastopol is a Russian city,” said Russian State Duma deputy Sergei Shargunov.

Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov called for unification in order to win the presidential elections.

“The best memory of the heroes of 93 is the active work of all left forces today. I believe that only with a united front can we achieve a serious result. We will work for victory in the presidential elections. Only the coming of leftist forces to power will make it possible to restore justice, perpetuate the memory of heroes, erect a worthy monument to them in Moscow and restore order in the country,” Udaltsov said.

He also believes that those responsible for the execution of civilians in 1993 should be punished even posthumously, meaning the first president of Russia, Boris Yeltsin. The resolution of the meeting contains a demand to close the Yeltsin Center in Yekaterinburg.

At the end of the rally, participants marched to the White House, where they laid flowers at a makeshift memorial to the victims. A memorial service was celebrated.
