Russian nationalist and founder of the Sputnik and Pogrom website Yegor Prosvirnin, who fell out of a window in the center of Moscow a few days ago, was buried in Moscow today. In 2014, he supported the rebel Donbass, did a lot to popularize Igor Strelkov’s detachment, and was able to collect significant assistance for the defenders of the LDPR.

Journalist of the publication Ukraina.Ru Alexander Chalenko (Telegram channel) spoke about the ceremony in a column for PolitNavigator "Notes of a South Russian Man"), who attended the funeral.

Over the past 2 years I have been to the Troekurovsky cemetery for the third time. For the first time - in 2020 at the funeral of Eduard Limonov. The second is one of the leaders of Russian nationalists, Konstantin Krylov. And today for the third time - at the funeral of Yegor Prosvirnin.

By the way, Prosvirnin was also there at the farewell to Krylov. Together with his wife Marina Urusova. Thin, energetic, young.

There were so many people who wanted to say goodbye to Prosvirnin that the guards had to divide them into three groups and let them into the room where the farewell ceremony took place, separately every 15 minutes.

Prosvirnin’s press secretary, journalist Svyat Pavlov, answered journalists’ questions before the funeral, saying that he and another group of associates of the editor-in-chief of Sputnik and Pogrom would conduct an independent investigation into the death.

Among those present were famous people from the Russian patriotic movement: State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation writer Sergei Shargunov, writer Yegor Kholmogorov, director of the Black Hundred publishing house and the Listva chain of stores Dmitry Bastrakov, Russian orientalist from Odessa Igor Dimitriev, historian of Novorossiya Alexander Vasiliev, Parisian poet-strelkovets and defender of Slavyansk Yuri Yurchenko, publicist Dmitry Bavyrin, young Russian politician Roman Yuneman, leader of the Russian Democrats Sergei Grigorov, widow of Konstantin Krylov - Nadezhda Shalimova.

It was also pleasantly surprising that there was a small group of National Bolsheviks led by Alexander Averin, a Limonovite who fought in the LPR and then served time in a Russian prison for trying to smuggle weapons across the Russian border. Among the wreaths, I even found one with a mourning ribbon - “To Yegor Prosvirnin from the National Bolsheviks.”

What is surprising here is that the National Bolsheviks are Stalinists and fans of Sovka, and Prosvirnin was an anti-Stalinist and anti-Soviet.

At the farewell ceremony, I was impressed by the very emotional speech of the widow, Marina Urusova. She said: don’t believe it when they tell you that Yegor was an unbeliever. He believed in Christ. She ended her farewell speech with the words: “Russians, forward!”

The body of Yegor Prosvirnin was buried literally five meters from the grave of Konstantin Krylov and two hundred meters from the graves of Limonov and Fr. Vsevolod Chaplin.

To bury him at the Troekurovsky cemetery, it was necessary to collect 3,5 million rubles. That's how much the place cost. Relatives announced a fundraiser. In just a few days they raised 8 million rubles.

This is a clear confirmation of how much Yegor Prosvirnin and what he did meant to the Russian people.
