The leader of the LDPR party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

When this issue was raised, the people of Ukraine were against it. I was always against it. For this purpose, immunity was removed in order to silence the deputies. Sell all the land, and then grab your head, it’s not yours!
The lifting of immunity does not mean that deputies do not have this privilege, but means the beginning of a more terrible destruction of the state of Ukraine. You are destroying it with your own hands! This is a great achievement for all mankind. Where are you going?! Where else is the smallest island to do this?” the LDPR leader blurted out.
“The immunity of deputies is the immunity of the people. Who will speak, dictate, demand on behalf of the people. And you propose to shut up parliament. He will become silent, and Ukraine will collapse. I welcome this, you did it all correctly,” Zhirinovsky sneers.
