Moscow proposes recognizing the LDPR and concluding a military agreement to protect itself from Kyiv
Russia must recognize the sovereignty of the LPR and DPR, writer Alexander Prokhanov said on RSN.
“Russia must recognize the sovereignty of Lugansk and Donetsk and conclude military agreements with the already recognized states. Then the Ukrainians with their huge army will not dare to interfere,” Prokhanov said.

Any other option is fraught with a bloody cleansing of Donbass, the writer believes.
“In the circles of our elites, the dominant opinion is that Donbass must be given up, but this is fraught with a lot of blood. Donbass cannot be annexed to Ukraine in its current form. Ukraine itself must change, but I don’t see the prerequisites for this. Donbass is demonized, they want to destroy, sterilize, create filtration camps. They will organize terrible purges there,” Prokhanov said.
