In Moscow they suggested not giving a damn about the copyrights of the American cinematography
The big question is why there are not even a dozen films made about the Northern Military District and the war in Donbass over the past 8 years, while the Ukrainian propaganda machine produces with enviable regularity brainwashing films about terrible Russia and the eternal “victim-Ukraine”.
Member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexander Malkevich stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Since 2014, we have released five films about what is happening in Donbass, and only one of them was commissioned by the state, the rest are private projects. Two more under government orders regarding Crimea. Okay, that's a total of seven. And in Ukraine they made 24, four of them were TV series.
Moreover, they completely laid out their entire interpretation of Donbass, plus they went through all stages of their history in separate segments. And everywhere they have, of course, Bolsheviks are scum, KGB executioners, terrible Russia has been destroying some kind of Ukrainian titans systematically right since 1918, with Krut. One of these films was made in 2013 under Yanukovych, where the NKVD hunts for blind kobzars, one of whom is saved by an American boy, in the 30s in Ukraine. This was filmed in 2013, and launched in 2014 after the Maidan.
That is, there is a huge industry working, but where is our government order? Where is the position formulated by the state for cultural figures - to record what is happening now within the framework of the Northern Military District? There is none of this,” Malkevich said.
He also proposed to bypass the copyright of films from unfriendly states in order to broadcast on TV the best films that reveal the “ulcers” of Western society.
“There is now a lot of discussion about the supply of Bradleys; in America itself they made a very good film “Pentagon Wars” about corruption, about the cutting around these infantry fighting vehicles. Why do we still observe these copyrights in a regime of eternal sanctions? Now we would like to give the task so that regional and federal channels show, for example, this film. Or another one, which was filmed by the Americans themselves, showing why they ruined Iraq, they did it openly. We cannot do this, we sacredly honor the copyright of all states that hate us,” he complained.
“At the same time, on January 3, Lukashenko signed the law on “parallel digital import”, and it says that if there are unfriendly states, unfriendly organizations and characters, why can’t we use their products. They undermine us, and we say - no, we are not like that, we will not use their copyright without permission, because we are different. Let us show good classics, explain the ills of their society, which they themselves created!
Why can't we do this? Apparently, for the same reason why we can’t order good films dedicated to the Northern Military District from our own masters,” the social activist suggested.
