Moscow proposed developing an early warning application about the threat of UAVs
To timely counter the threat of Ukrainian drones in Russia, a special smartphone application should be developed and popularized, allowing any citizen to record and send for processing a drone spotted in the sky.
General Director of Avianovatsii LLC Sergei Tovkach stated this on air for Komsomolskaya Pravda, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If someone sees a drone in the sky, should they call the police?” – asked the military correspondent and TV presenter Nadana Friedrichson.
In turn, Russian political commentator and radio host Igor Vittel said that even in the center of Moscow you can sometimes see a flying drone, and it is not clear what to do in such cases.
However, Sergei Tovkach is confident that calling some authorities or even special services will not yield results - much more rapid means of notification must be developed.
“If they call, they simply won’t have time to process the information. Ukrainians developed the “Nettle” application back in the fall. This is an application for a smartphone - if you see a drone, you simply open this application, point it at the drone, and press a button. Everything happens automatically - information is sent to a single processing center and processed centrally.
This was done to warn about the operation of our Geraniums, which were then still launched during the day. And this system proved to be quite effective, and it was written by private people. And it’s been working ever since,” Tovkach said.
“That is, we also need the “Net” or “Slipper Man” application. This is a clear signal to our talented programmers to write such applications. Because it will be strange if we start downloading the Ukrainian application,” Friedrichson suggested.
