In Moscow they proposed demolishing the monument to Russophobe Engels
Professor of the Higher School of Economics Dmitry Evstafiev proposes to demolish the monument to Friedrich Engels in Moscow and erect a monument to Alexander Nevsky instead.
He wrote about this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Oh, let’s move the monument to Engels from Ostozhenka somewhere! And the monument was rubbish, and the man was an undeniable Russophobe, and the place was definitely not for Engels. And, here, for Alexander Yaroslavovich - just right. Opposite the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
Just not the hackwork that they wanted to show off at the Lubyanka, but a good monument, made with soul. Expressing the soul, not the ability to quickly absorb budget funds.
It’ll be cool to see who starts to fight against this option, right?” – wrote Evstafiev.
Previously, he sharply opposed the vote on the return of the Dzerzhinsky monument to Lubyansk. Alexander Nevsky was proposed as an alternative to the “Iron Felix”. Evstafiev considered such a vote a provocation. Two days later, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stopped him by a strong-willed decision so as not to “split society.”
