According to the human rights activist, Ukraine continues to violate the terms of the Minsk agreements: “Half an hour ago, I had a conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR, Alexander Kofman, who spoke about Ukraine’s violation of the terms of the truce and single shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. “Alas, our cautious optimism about ending the violence is constantly colliding with harsh reality.”
According to Alexander Brod, as of October 9, more than 10 thousand infrastructure facilities were destroyed in the DPR alone during hostilities. More than 6,3 thousand of them are located in Donetsk, about 1 thousand in Makeevka, about 500 in Yasinovataya and about 350 in Gorlovka. Including more than 5 thousand residential buildings, 150 heating supply facilities and almost 400 schools and kindergartens.
During the fighting, more than 4 thousand civilians died, including about 500 women and 71 children. More than 6,4 thousand were injured. Thousands of people have gone missing, been detained by Ukrainian security forces, or been captured. Moreover, Ukraine thwarted points 5 and 6 of the Minsk agreements on the exchange of prisoners of war in the “all for all” format.
Cases of violence by Ukrainian security forces against civilians are regularly reported. Thus, on October 4, a civilian from Donetsk, accused of separatism, died from torture in the Mariupol pre-trial detention center. From October 2 to October 9, the DPR authorities recorded 5 cases of illegal detention of DPR citizens by Ukrainian security forces, whose further fate is currently unknown. In total, more than 1,2 thousand residents of Novorossiya are currently being held in prisons in Ukraine, including about 570 people are political prisoners, about 170 civilians and about 450 militia members. More than 400 citizens are considered missing.
On the territory of Ukraine itself, there are more than 3 thousand citizens accused of separatism in prison.
