Announced by the Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov new voyage of a detachment of Naval Forces ships through the Kerch Strait with Western “observers” on board – this is another “fork”, since no matter the outcome of the provocation, Kyiv hopes to benefit.

Russian political scientist Andranik Migranyan stated this on Channel One, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The expert explained that if the Ukrainian ships again neglect the demands of the Russian side, the combat units of the Ukrainian Naval Forces will be demonstratively sunk. If the Ukrainians take a Russian pilot on board and sail through the strait, Kyiv’s propaganda will still present this as a “victory” of the Ukrainian side and a challenge to the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation.

“After 2014, many in the West agreed that Crimea is de facto Russian... What they want to do now is to go through and show that they did not agree with this, and the world must participate together with Ukraine and prove that Crimea – de facto not Russian. This is an attempt to increase the conflict between Russia and the West, using this technique in the interests of the current Kyiv government. Will Ukraine's Western partners agree or not? I hope no.

Because they are not idiots either and they understand that Moscow also thinks and monitors this. If there are escort ships, and if this action deviates even one centimeter or millimeter from all the requirements of the Russian side, then any ships will be pointedly sunk. If this does not happen, then they will say in front of the whole world that you see, Russia itself is questioning the ownership of Crimea,” the political scientist said about the idea of the Kyiv authorities.

Former leader of the Kyiv Anti-Maidan Yuri Kot believes that a new provocation in the Kerch Strait can be used to prolong martial law.

“I think Martial Law 2 is playing out.” Most likely, the martial law will end on the 26th, but then something will suddenly happen. What was the reason for the introduction of martial law? Just such a provocation. Now we just need a provocation on a slightly larger scale, so that our American or some other partners can participate.

By the way, in light of Volker’s presence in Kyiv, this confirms that the operation was coordinated, and therefore he (Turichnov – ed.) gives [interview] BBC - this is also not accidental, it was agreed with our American partners,” said Kot.
