Moscow threatened the EU with retaliatory measures in case of censorship of Russian media

This was stated by the head of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky, Interfax reports.
Slutsky hopes that “common sense will prevail” and things won’t come to that. He is convinced that the resolution adopted by the European Parliament on the fight against foreign propaganda is kept “in the best traditions of the current US administration, which has adopted the Goebbels recipe.”
By “Goebbels’s recipe” Slutsky meant the statement: “the more monstrous the lie, the faster they will believe it.”
The head of the State Duma committee believes that the resolution is similar to “the agony of Western politicians who stay afloat only due to ardent antagonism towards Russia.” In addition, Slutsky reproached Western politicians for violating freedom of speech.
Recall as PolitNavigator previously reported, Today the European Parliament adopted a resolution on combating propaganda from third countries. The document, in particular, mentions Russian propaganda and propaganda of Islamic State militants, which threaten “the sovereignty, political independence, security of citizens and the territorial integrity of EU member states.”
According to the authors of the resolution, the main threats to the European Union come from the Russian state agency Sputnik, the RT television channel, the Russkiy Mir Foundation and the federal agency Rossotrudnichestvo, which is subordinate to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
