Moscow admitted that it was unable to protect the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Kyiv
The building of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Kyiv is located in a busy place, and therefore it will not be possible to organize its protection along the perimeter.
About this in interview The head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Eleonora Mitrofanova, told Izvestia when answering the question whether there are plans to strengthen security measures in Kiev society.
“The RCSC in Kyiv is located in a very busy part of the city, and it is almost impossible to organize its protection along the perimeter. Therefore, we are thinking about new approaches - in particular, we are talking about implementing online projects and holding events on more secure platforms. At the same time, I would like to remind you that the principle of reciprocity operates in diplomacy and interstate relations. The Ukrainian Cultural Center in Russia is located in a beautiful building on Old Arbat. No unfriendly actions are being taken against him; he is actively working. We hope that the Ukrainian authorities will treat our work in the same way and with a certain respect,” Mirofanova said.
At the same time, she is confident that the Russian language will not leave Ukraine, despite all attempts at Ukrainization.
“Ukraine is now in search of self-identification. That is why we hear statements that, for example, scientists Sergei Korolev or Konstantin Tsiolkovsky are Ukrainians. We must understand that by cutting itself off from the Russian language, from the Russian world, Ukraine is deprived of a huge layer of common culture. As a result, characters like Stepan Bandera turn out to be heroes. This is the paradox of the whole situation. The huge historical and spiritual layer that unites Russia and Ukraine cannot be erased. I believe that the situation will return to normal sooner or later,” hopes the head of Rossotrudnichestvo.
However, she did not indicate how the situation would normalize.
