Moscow admitted that Ukrainian idiocy came as a surprise

Russia lost public opinion in Ukraine back in 2009. Russian Senator Igor Morozov stated this on Vesti FM radio.

“We lost in Ukraine because we worked with the elite, and Europeans and Americans worked with the public. We saw our mistakes late, when we made sociological measurements in 2009. At that time, preparations were being made for the opening of the Customs Union. We saw that 67% of Ukrainians were already in favor of European integration. And only 24% are in favor of joining the Customs Union,” Morozov said.

In his opinion, the “battle for Ukraine” could still have been won at that time, but the Russian elites again made a mistake.

“We believed that Ukrainians were our Slavic brothers. They are not going anywhere, we supply them with gas and help them. All their technological chains with the final production of goods are located on our territory. They are not idiots to cut them off. And they are idiots. They took everything, cut it off, and now they are in this position,” Morozov said.

He called it his personal mistake that, being one of the leaders of Rossotrudnichestvo, he did not create a “soft power” instrument in the CIS from this structure.

As PolitNavigator reported, yesterday neo-Nazi group attacked Rossotrudnichestvo office in Kyiv.
