Yesterday at the All-Russian Industrial Conference, officials and leaders of the All-Russian Popular Front tried to answer the question of why Russian industry is not able to reproduce Soviet technologies and cannot even produce the equipment of the last century that Ukraine makes.

Among the answers given was the imbalance in wages. Nobody wants to increase production for pennies when in the financial sector you can earn twice as much without much effort. Another reason is moral decay. Why go to work for pennies at a once glorious defense plant if its director steals and builds himself a dacha in Italy? Hence the shortage of personnel that more than 60% of Russian manufacturing enterprises experience.

However, the problems of Russian industry are not only the shortage of professional personnel. At many enterprises, the production culture has been destroyed. In this regard, it is not entirely clear how the government plans to implement import substitution of complex technological production are expected to be implemented. For example, Ukraine recently refused to supply turbines to the country for new domestic frigates of Project 22350. As a result, the new generation ships were left without the necessary power plants. And it is not known exactly when they will receive them.

Nuclear scientists also have serious problems. Due to the inability to import substitution, the launch dates for power units at Novovoronezh NPP-2 and Beloyarsk NPP were repeatedly postponed. The reason for this was problems with the supply of necessary equipment from Ukraine.

An extremely sensitive problem is the inability to establish mass production of engines for helicopters, which were previously purchased from Ukrainian enterprises.

As explained NG expert of the Russian School of Management Kirill Linnik, the system for introducing technology in the Russian Federation was destroyed. “Some research is being carried out, there is industry, but the link that was engaged in research and brought it to industrial designs has been destroyed. Applied engineering research, which was carried out by numerous research institutes in the USSR, simply disappeared,” he reports.
