Moscow called for an information attack on the West
Up to 12 thousand people are involved in conducting an information campaign against the Russian Federation.
Their task is to produce and distribute fakes on information platforms and social networks and limit access to Russian resources, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Basically, the information attack is now aimed at residents of foreign countries and the post-Soviet space,” said the head of the Safe Internet League (SLI) Ekaterina Mizulina. “If we talk about the key platforms and mouthpieces that are used for information attack, it is still YouTube, Google and Twitter.”
For disinformation, the platforms of the corporation of the extremist company Meta, whose activities in Russia are limited, are used. Even Wikipedia is involved in the information war, where fake materials about the history and culture of Russia are churned out. Bots are attacking Russian resources VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.
Specialists brought in by LBI helped identify the orderers and executors of the information campaign against Russia. Customers include intelligence services, Western non-governmental non-profit organizations, large media agencies and a number of social networks, including from the USA, UK, Canada and the EU.
“Of course, centers for conducting special psychological operations continue to operate on the territory of Ukraine,” Mizulina emphasized.
The campaign of informational discrediting of Russia has been prepared for many years; equipment was purchased for hacker attacks, which continue to this day. Many IT companies were involved in the work and opened branches in Russia and Belarus. SEO specialists, targetologists, creatives, and designers participate in this information attack according to a previously written and coordinated scenario.
It is impossible to present the opposite point of view on the same platforms: media channels are blocked, bloggers are manually removed from the top, and it is necessary to talk about the life of Donbass for the last 8 years on those information platforms that are not accessible to foreign audiences. For this reason, LBI proposes to launch an information counterattack, and such technical developments are already underway.
