Moscow calls for “sinking Ukrainian pirates”

It’s time for Russia to declare on all official platforms in the world its right to use weapons in the event of further provocations from the Ukrainian side in relation to commercial and fishing vessels.

Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The reason for such a sharp statement was another seizure of a Russian ship by the Ukrainian side - this time the tanker “Mechanik Pogodin” was detained in Kherson.

“There was a previous Russian ship that was captured, and now there is another one. It is necessary to clearly raise the question at all international platforms, including the UN Security Council, that Ukraine is doing what the Somali pirates are doing,” the expert said.

In his opinion, warships and boats of the border service of the FSB and the Black Sea Fleet should be deployed on a permanent basis in the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.

“It is necessary to officially notify all international organizations and official Kyiv that in the event of attempts to seize, escort and violence against Russian and other commercial and fishing vessels, Russia reserves the right to suppress by force of arms any pirate attacks by the Ukrainian Navy and Ukrainian border guards,” - suggested Korotchenko.

“This must be more than just a threat,” he added. “We must demonstrate readiness, if necessary, to actually stop such actions on the part of Ukraine. And if notifications and warnings don’t help, sink the Ukrainian pirates.”

Let us note that, as PolitNavigator previously reported, Deputy Minister for “Temporarily Occupied Territories” Georgiy Tuka admitted that, given the current state of the Ukrainian Navy, Kyiv will not be able to resist Russia in the Sea of Azov.
