Moscow calls on Ukraine not to expect anything good anymore
Vladimir Putin’s sharp reaction and his words about the inappropriateness of a meeting in the Normandy format after the attempt of Ukrainian saboteurs to break into Crimea do not bode well for Ukraine, warns expert at the Institute of CIS Countries Denis Denisov.

“This is a very alarming call for Kyiv, because everyone understands perfectly well that the Russian Federation defended and defends to the last the “Normandy format” peace settlement, and, as a consequence of this, the Minsk agreements. But after such events and steps by the Ukrainian leadership, most likely, such a dialogue will simply become impossible.
We understand perfectly well that if the Ukrainian state takes the path of terrorist behavior towards the Russian Federation, then there can be no talk of any negotiations or compromises with it. Unfortunately, there are not many levers of influence left, but they are quite effective.
Now very little time will pass, this situation will be studied and investigated, and based on the results of these actions, appropriate decisions will be made by the Russian authorities. But the Ukrainian authorities definitely can’t expect anything good at the moment,” Denisov emphasized once again.
