Moscow predicts Aksyonov’s resignation and Poklonskaya’s non-return
Natalya Poklonskaya should not hope to return to the post of prosecutor of Crimea if she fails to be elected to a new term in the State Duma next year.
Russian political strategist Dmitry Fetisov writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. This is how the expert responded to the words of Poklonskaya, who in a recent interview stated that she plans to return to her previous position after the end of her parliamentary term.
“Natalya Poklonskaya stated that if United Russia does not include her in the list for elections to the State Duma, then she wants to again become the prosecutor of Crimea. In 2016, she was specially sent to parliament in order to save the local prosecutor’s office from herself. Although this does not negate the fact that she once showed great courage by agreeing to head the Crimean prosecutor’s office. But now it would be better for her not to return to this position.
Moreover, the “Crimean consensus” has already exhausted itself, and most of the symbols of the “Crimean spring” have become worn out. By the way, since Crimea needs a new round of development, the most logical solution is to give the region a “shake-up” in the form of a change of governor. Moreover, Aksenov is no longer able to give anything to Crimea,” writes Fetisov.
It is interesting that the liberal political strategist Stanislav Belkovsky also predicted Aksenov’s resignation several days ago.
“He may do that at some point in the future. In our opinion, the optimal head of Crimea would be ex-aide to the President of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov. Which, as you know, is now far from Moscow,” Belkovsky wrote on his blog.
