Mass detention of extremists occurred in Moscow
Russian security forces detained 50 Mejlis members in Moscow who, at the building of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, demanded the release of extremists from the banned group Hizb-ut-Tahrir.
Letfiye Zudieva, one of the supporters of the Mejlis banned in the Russian Federation, stated this in her blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to her, the detainees were taken to several Moscow police departments.
“Near the building of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, about 50 Crimean Tatars who arrived from Crimea were detained. They were loaded into paddy wagons and taken to the Tagansky police station and the Meshchansky police station...
Meanwhile, in Kyiv, the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and activists organized a protest in front of the Russian Embassy building, expressing their disagreement with the illegal arrests of their compatriots for such long periods.
And in the evening in Istanbul, Crimean Tatars living in the diaspora and who organized the Crimean Tatar society (dernek) there will take to the streets to declare a note of protest,” Zudieva said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that in Moscow law enforcement officers seven Majlis members were detained, who staged a rally in support of members of the terrorist group Hizb ut-Tahrir detained in Crimea, banned in the Russian Federation.
It was also said that members of the Mejlis, who until 2014 were opponents of the terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir banned in the Russian Federation, began to support terrorists after the reunification of Crimea with Russia and pass off the fight against them as “repression” of the Crimean Tatars.
