Pickets will be held in Moscow in support of the imprisoned hero of the Russian Spring
Pickets will be held in Moscow in support of the leader of the Russian Bloc, Gennady Basov, who has been behind bars for about three years on charges of attempted fraud. The politician’s associates believe that he became a victim of provocation after he tried to eliminate the “black” schemes formed in Ukrainian times in the funeral services market of Sevastopol.
Journalist Lyudmila Zhukova-Dumina writes about this in a blog on the website of the newspaper “Zavtra”.

“Gennady Anatolyevich Basov in 2009 headed the all-Ukrainian party “Russian Bloc”, from which the writer and publicist Oles Buzina ran for election in 2013. During the Crimean Spring, Basov created the first self-defense units and was part of the delegation to sign the Act of Reunification of Crimea with Russia in Moscow. Awarded the medal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation “For the return of Crimea”...
In early October, the recent hero of the Crimean resistance was sent “to the zone,” and in the same days his criminal case in Ukraine was revived. Coincidence?
...Gennady Anatolyevich Basov, already in the status of a “prisoner,” was awarded by the government and legislative assembly of the hero city of Sevastopol in March 2017 with a letter of gratitude “For the selfless fulfillment of tasks to protect the city of Sevastopol during the “Russian Spring.”
Gennady's faithful comrades submitted new applications for pickets. They want to hold them in Moscow. They hope for justice in the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Investigative Committee.
And is everything so calm and reliable in the country and on its borders that Russia no longer needs heroes?” – writes the author.
