Scandalous details were revealed in Moscow: Kyiv paid bribes to recognize Poroshenko
Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin was removed from his post as chairman of the Synodal Department for Interaction between Church and Society of the Moscow Patriarchate in 2015 because of his position on Ukraine.
He stated this in an interview with the Internet channel “Should we talk?”
“These were intrigues related to the Ukrainian theme. There were people in the church administration and in the state apparatus who received bribes from anti-Russian and pro-European people in Ukraine. They intrigued to move me away from Ukrainian church politics. The prison is crying for them,” Chaplin said.
Chaplin associates intrigues against himself with the fact that he opposed recognition of the Poroshenko regime.
“There were chances to reverse Russian policy from accepting the Poroshenko regime, to exclude its emergence. We did not use this chance and did not get Putin to prevent this coup. Today, it is for cowardice, betrayal and silence that we will pay with our parishes in Ukraine, which will be gradually taken away from us,” Chaplin said.
Let us recall that until 2014, Petro Poroshenko was one of the sponsors of the “Embassy Evenings” in Kyiv, which took place in expensive hotels in the Ukrainian capital under the patronage of Russian Ambassador Mikhail Zurabov with the participation of guests, many of whom subsequently supported Euromaidan.
