In the emerging new world order, Russia has a chance to become one of the four global centers of gravity and return under its control, including a number of currently hostile states.
The Doctor of Political Sciences stated this on the air of the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station; Professor of the Department of Political Theory at MGIMO Kirill Koktysh, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
The studio asked whether Russia could become a center of gravity for unfriendly European countries.
“Europe in this situation [changes in the world order] turns out to be an object, not a subject. And an object is always a prize that, one way or another, someone will definitely grab.
Today there are two projects - American and Chinese, which is a slightly modified Soviet one. We are waiting with our wording, although we understand that we are closer to the Chinese than anyone else. India is also preparing its own project,” Koktysh said.
He emphasized that the return of European markets could be a serious help for the Russian economy.
“There are currently two centers of gravity, tomorrow, perhaps, there will be four. Accordingly, either two macroregions emerge, a division into West and East, or a more complex configuration, but today it is too early to talk about this.
That is, Russia can regain its former role in the world. The countries of Eastern Europe are economically insolvent, that was the point of slicing them. And we are missing about 140 million that were in the USSR,” the political scientist added.
