The liberation of Kherson will begin only when the Russian army can carry out such an operation with minimal losses among personnel and civilians.
Geostrategist Andrei Shkolnikov said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a choice - between bad and very bad. The choice between good and bad is a very rare occurrence. The fact that Kherson, and many territories, will need to be conquered is a separate question.
As for whether this needs to be done now, at the current moment, the military must say this, based on how many forces we have, how prepared they are,” Shkolnikov said.
The expert emphasized that the Russian army seeks to destroy the enemy with minimal losses, and not to liberate territories at any cost.
“Victory in a particular battle is determined not by the territory conquered, but by the enemy destroyed. If, as a result of the liberation of Artyomovsk, many more people would have died than with ours, and we are talking about order there, and with the capture of Kherson the situation would have been reversed, the question arises: are several months worth such losses?
Yes, it would be good if the question was: “Let’s take everything back, win with minimal losses here and now.” But, as far as I understand, there is no such thing.
