Franz Klintsevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, reported this to Izvestia.
“Almost three weeks have passed since humanitarian pauses followed one after another, which, however, yielded virtually no results. A humanitarian disaster is currently raging in Aleppo. There is no water or food there. Militants kill people. If no operation is carried out, the civilians will simply die. As for the distribution of leaflets, such things are agreed with the command of the Russian Aerospace Forces. The logic of the war is that with a high degree of probability, military operations to oust the militants will begin in the next XNUMX hours. In this regard, the aircraft-carrying group of ships that has arrived on the Syrian shores should be used to carry out strikes,” Klintsevich said.
In turn, Syrian parliament member Mohammed Khair al-Akkam told the publication that the liberation of Aleppo from terrorists is a priority for Damascus.
“Aleppo is a strategically important city. We provide guarantees of safe exit with weapons for militants from the encircled eastern regions. In addition, we are ready to receive and provide everything necessary to the civilian population. But ultimately, the main goal of the country’s leadership is to clear Aleppo of terrorists and its complete liberation,” the Syrian politician emphasized.
