Moscow demands to prevent the stripping of the South-East
If it is impossible to dislodge the anti-Russian regime throughout Ukraine, then it should be prevented from dominating at least the original Russian territory of the South-East of the country.
Semyon Bagdasarov, director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Central Asia, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What difference does it make to us what Tymoshenko said, what Zelensky said, Poroshenko said? These are the children of one American clearing, whom they place in power - today you, tomorrow you and so on. We are not interested in this. Another question should be important for us: do we want to see a government that is focused on Russia? There are no such leaders there. Zelensky, or what? Benya Kolomoisky directed it, and we are discussing it. They said it right today, people chose the lesser of evils. For them, Zelensky is the lesser evil, they voted for him.
This is the tragedy of the Ukrainian people, the tragedy of Russia. The tragedy of Russia, in addition, lies in the fact that we do not understand what is our interest there, why do we need these elections? For us, this is a clownery, if they want, let them perform there. I think we need to take very decisive steps, to finally do what we have talked about many times - not to recognize these elections at all, no matter how they end. These are elections of a regime hostile to us. We shouldn’t recognize any elections to the Rada, what difference does it make who wins?” - said Bagdasarov.
“We must clearly define what our national interest is. Our national interests are that there is no anti-Russian regime in these vast territories called Ukraine.
If this is impossible to achieve, then we must think about how to make the most important part - the South-East of Ukraine, which historically has always been oriented towards the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, where Russian statehood has always created a military-industrial complex, over 20 percent of the entire military-industrial complex of the USSR there were, and Russian people work there, were not captured by the terrible originality of Ukrainian nationalism, the essence of which is simple, not even Bandera, but if you are against Russia and the Russians, you are good,” Bagdasarov said.
