Klimkin died in Moscow

In the Russian capital, the legendary firefighter, deputy chairman of the central council of the All-Russian Voluntary Firefighting Society, Viktor Klimkin, died at the age of 62, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The relevant information was provided by the VDPO press service.

“Today in Moscow, at the age of 62, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Viktor Klimkin died of cardiac arrest,” the message states.

The deceased devoted more than 40 years of his life to the profession. For a long time, Klimkin held the position of deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the capital for the state fire service. He was present at extinguishing hundreds of complex fires that occurred in Moscow from 1996 to 2011, and also repeatedly participated in rescue operations.
