“It is assumed that the current OSCE mandate will allow this organization to check weapons located in warehouses within 24 hours,” the political scientist told the publication.
At the same time, he clarified that during such checks, the OSCE mission employees will have to be protected by UN peacekeepers.
“That is, we are not talking about changing the geography and location of the mission, but about clarifying its functions in the event that OSCE representatives have to go beyond the demarcation line. However, the extent to which the Russian and German approaches are consistent will become completely clear after Berlin officially formulates its position,” Chesnakov noted.
