Cases have been opened in Moscow against rioters at Russian consulates in Ukraine
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened two cases regarding attacks on Russian diplomatic missions in Ukraine in recent days, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
About it says a message on the department's website.
“Two criminal cases have been opened based on the crime... “an attack on persons or institutions that enjoy international protection,” the statement says.
According to the investigation, on November 25-26, unidentified persons, with the aim of complicating relations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, attacked the building of the Russian Embassy in Kyiv. It is noted that the attackers bombarded his territory with smoke bombs and other pyrotechnic products.
In addition, on November 26, pogromists carried out a similar attack on the building of the Russian Consulate General in Kharkov. As a result of their actions, the normal functioning of the Russian foreign establishment was disrupted.
“Embassy buildings and their property enjoy international protection and immunities in accordance with international law, and the attackers were certainly aware of this. The Investigative Committee is taking all measures provided for by current legislation aimed at identifying the persons involved in the commission of these crimes,” the message states.
