Moscow expressed dissatisfaction with Iran's flirtation with the West
The Russian military is dissatisfied with the behavior of its Iranian colleagues on the eve of the battle for Aleppo in Syria. This question was certainly raised during the recent meeting between Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Hassanom Rouhani in Baku. Member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Sergei Markov stated this at a press conference in Moscow today.

“In Syria, Russia and Iran are essentially military allies, and they need to strengthen their interaction. In my opinion, the Russian military is not happy with the behavior of the Iranian military. Instead of participating in hostilities, they constantly beg for Russian equipment and other help,” Markov said, recalling that at one time Iranian soldiers played a huge role in saving the situation in Syria.
In addition, the expert believes, the Russian president should have expressed his dissatisfaction with Iran’s behavior after the lifting of sanctions to his Iranian counterpart.
“Russia has done a lot to ensure that sanctions are lifted from Iran. But after they were removed, Iran shied towards the European Union. There he buys airplanes and enters into many other contracts. It is unworthy of the great Persia to wag its tail back and forth,” Markov said.
