If the elections in Ukraine are rigged, Russia will not recognize the result, which will lead to a breakdown in relations with further confrontation.
This opinion was expressed by Sobchak Foundation expert Sergei Stankevich on the Russia-1 channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He called the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine “the riskiest and most alarming” event.
“What is the biggest risk? If it is obvious that the elections are falsified, and a certain declared winner has imposed himself on the country, then our relations with Ukraine will be delegitimized by non-recognition on the part of Russia, thereby breaking off relations and excluding any agreements. This is a very dangerous turn, beyond which there is inevitable confrontation,” Stankevich said.
As PolitNavigator reported, a Kiev political scientist previously predicted bribery, falsification and fraud in the Ukrainian elections, up to the use of force support units.
