There is talk in Moscow about replacing Lukashenko
Now in Belarus there is no worthy candidate to replace Alexander Lukashenko. However, the Kremlin does not consider him indispensable and can, if necessary, find a successor for him.
Political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this on radio Vesti, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For Russia, Lukashenko cannot be replaced by those radicals who took to the streets. For us, Lukashenko cannot be replaced by Tikhanovskaya. But in principle, of course, it is replaceable, and sooner or later this question must be raised, that’s clear. This should be clear to Lukashenko himself.
I think this tactic he chose is a losing one. Because any reasonable replacement must occur only with the support of Russia, and without Russia’s support nothing will work.
As for Russia, we will, of course, replace Lukashenko, the question is with whom. Those who are supported by Poland, Lithuania and Czech intelligence? We will not replace them. But it could very well be for someone else,” he noted.
We would like to remind you that earlier expert Ilya Kusa said that the failed example of Ukraine’s development after Euromaidan demotivates the West to interfere in the situation in Belarus, even if Russia goes for military escalation.
