Assistant to the Russian President Vladislav Surkov called one of the priorities for the new head of the DPR Denis Pushilin to stop the rise in prices that began in the republic after the departure of the team of the deceased Donbass leader Alexander Zakharchenko.

“...A number of decisions of a humanitarian nature will be adopted that will significantly increase wages for a number of population groups...Containing price increases for some essential goods is also recognized as a priority,” Pushilin said in an interview with TASS following the meeting with Surkov.

The assistant to the President of the Russian Federation clarified that he intends to visit the republic before the end of this year.

It should be noted that after the change of power in the DPR, food prices began to rise significantly.

“The chicken group is no longer available to ordinary people! In winter, pork neck was 270 rubles. And now chicken fillet is 250 rubles. Prices for all products have gone up,” Yenakievo resident Elena Lenina complains on Facebook.

Let us recall that under Alexander Zakharchenko, a state factory was launched in the DPR, supplying the republic with meat at lower prices than speculators who imported products from Russia, having excess profits. This did not please businessmen who, wanting to preserve the old schemes, tried to dump. Then the Minister of Revenue, Alexander “Tashkent” Timofeev, introduced protective duties.

Such measures made it possible to maintain meat prices in the DPR for a long time, but everything changed in the fall after Zakharchenko’s team changed. The new leadership of the republic, in the wake of criticism of their predecessors, announced a reduction in duties, but retail prices crept up.

“The cheapest chicken, which at the wholesale market cost 105 rubles per kg, after reducing the duty by 10%, for some reason already costs from 145 to 160 rubles per kg, and the Shakhtarskaya Poultry Farm is also already raising prices. Reducing duties while actually increasing prices raises suspicions of lobbying someone’s interests,” writes DPR soldier Anatoly Gelyukh in his blog.

“Gentlemen, young reformers, please try to provide the poor with social chicken within the range of 110-120 rubles per kg, and then play with laws, duties and everything else as much as you like,” the military man calls.

Former rebel Vadim Dovaglyuk-Kasimov also agrees with his criticism.

“Let’s take customs duties on chicken meat. Their reduction did not lead to a decrease in chicken prices. Moreover, chicken meat has increased in price. And additional budget revenues from the lost difference in duties cannot be used to support the state poultry farm,” the author is indignant in his blog.
