Moscow said it was time to play outside the rules
Russia must build its own strategy in international relations, or it will have to play by someone else’s rules.
The president of the Center for Strategic Communications, Dmitry Abzalov, said this during a broadcast on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The problem is this. Since we are the main “evil” in this political system, then why should we play by the rules? For example, China takes and uses various schemes to import Venezuelan oil despite sanctions. America, introducing sanctions against Venezuela, violated them for many years. They supplied light oil from Venezuela, mixed it with their super-heavy oil and supplied it back to them for processing. It doesn't bother them at all.
In this regard, our problem is the following: perhaps there will be some kind of “tumbleweed,” that is, whoever has nuclear weapons is right. In this regard, we win, but we would not want such a scenario, otherwise any argument will justify precisely these positions. Therefore, if Russia says that a certain country has such a legal system and we don’t like it, then the decision should be made by the citizens of that country and the economy should not influence this. In this regard, we need to build a new system, or act like everyone else,” Abzalov said.
