Moscow said that Trump once again gave in to the Pentagon and intelligence services
The night bombing of an air base in Syria is an attempt by the United States to “stamp with gunpowder” the version that Assad is responsible for the chemical attack in Idlib.

Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Konstantin Kosachev wrote about this on his Facebook page, recalling that the tragedy in Idlib has at least two more versions.
“By a strange coincidence, a sharp tightening of the American attitude towards Assad occurred just a couple of days after its softening (the White House recently stated that the removal of the current regime is no longer a priority). One gets the strong impression that neither the Pentagon nor the American intelligence services agreed with this thesis, and Trump was immediately backed up against another wall with “irrefutable evidence.” How can one not remember Colin Powell’s notorious Iraq test tube?” Kosachev wrote, referring to the dubious US justification for its invasion of Iraq in 2003.
He believes that after today’s bombing, “the desired Russian-American anti-terrorist coalition in Syria, which was talked about so much after Trump came to power, is dying, never having been born.”
“Trump Walls” are multiplying. But it all started so well. It’s a shame,” concluded Kosachev.
