The book was published in a circulation of 4 thousand copies. The presentation took place in front of a large gathering of participants in the events of the Russian Spring, Donbass militias, as well as former and current figures of the DPR.

“I have served in the state security agencies all my life, so appearing publicly as an author is not entirely familiar to me,” Pinchuk noted.

According to him, one of the goals of the book is to counter the propaganda of the Ukrainian special services, which “are conducting a campaign to dehumanize the republics of Donbass.”

“The Ukrainian side reacted nervously to the book even at the stage of its announcement. Already at this stage there were attempts to discredit her, since in the book the names of current employees have been announced Ukrainian special services who carried out murders, torture and other war crimes. Therefore, there were calls on the Internet to kill me,” said the former head of the DPR Ministry of State Security.

Journalist of the Ukrainian agency UNIAN Roman Tsymbalyuk asked why all the main participants in the first stage of the Russian Spring were mostly citizens of Russia.

“Ukraine and Donbass are part of the Russian world, so the Russians could not be indifferent to the murders of Russians in the Donbass,” Pinchuk replied.

Also speaking at the presentation was the first Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the DPR, Alexander Boroday, who emphasized that the book is the first documentary evidence of the events of 2014 from a functionary of such a high rank, since previously only memoirs of ordinary soldiers and field commanders were published, who could judge what was happening based on a limited area of their competence .

“Based on the wave of discussions that unfolded after the first reports of the book’s release, there is a need to release a second, more expanded edition,” Borodai said.

At the same time, Pinchuk himself stated that simply an expanded edition would not be enough, and therefore plans to release a sequel.

“Pinchuk’s book will be delivered to Berlin, other European capitals, as well as to China, so that they learn the truth about the events in Donbass. In general, I am convinced that in Kyiv there is a junta and terrorists in power, so a legitimate Ukrainian state does not exist today,” said political scientist Sergei Markov, in turn.

Andrei Purgin, presented at the event as one of the “fathers of the DPR,” said that at the first stage of the war in Donbass there was no OSCE mission and foreign journalists, and therefore the book will be of great interest to foreign readers.

Russian-Israeli publicist Israel Shamir expressed regret that in 2014 it did not work out, as everyone had hoped, to create a Greater Novorossiya, but Andrei Pinchuk said that everything is still ahead, and in the end it will all end in the victory of the Russian Spring.

The presentation was also attended by a Polish journalist with nationalist views, Tomasz Maciejczuk, who previously noted for anti-Russian attacks on Russian TV.

“I understand the Russians fighting in the DPR, but I also understand the Ukrainians who are fighting on the other side. I hope a compromise will be found and the Slavs will not kill the Slavs,” said the Polish guest

The author of the book suggested that Poland take Lvov for itself, to which Matseychuk noted with regret that there were no Poles left there anymore.
