Moscow says that the Ukrainian Neptune missile has no chance against Russian means of destruction
The Black Sea Fleet and the Russian Aerospace Forces have a full range of capabilities that eliminate any threat from Ukraine, especially from the modernized Soviet anti-ship missiles called Neptune.
Vasily Dandykin, a member of the Expert Council of the All-Russian organization “Officers of Russia”, military expert, captain 1st rank, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“All missiles are formidable weapons, but the Neptune missiles are a former Soviet cruise missile. Maybe they improved it somewhere and conducted tests. But for every missile there is a different remedy.
We have our air defense systems that can easily shoot down these missiles, these are short- and long-range Pantsir systems, and now Crimea has a full arsenal of these missiles.
This includes aviation, which can successfully fight them with its air-to-air missiles. That is, for this, the Black Sea Fleet and the Russian Aerospace Forces have a full range of means, and so on.
It's just another element of political statements. I think that, unfortunately, such statements will continue to be made,” Dandykin said.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Rear Admiral Alexey Neizhpapa, boasted that Neptune missiles from mainland Ukraine could fly to Sevastopol.
At the same time, ex-NSDC Secretary Alexander Turchynov, who is distinguished by his special love for Ukrainian missiles, already this summer complained about suspension of production missile complex.
