Moscow regrets that Ukraine will not go to the championship in Russia
If the Ukrainian football team went to Russia, they could be convinced that Russians are friendly and hospitable people.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets by Vyacheslav Koloskov, who held the position of FIFA Vice President for 17 years, answering the question of what is more, good or bad, about the fact that the US and Ukrainian national teams did not make it to the FIFA World Cup, which will be held next year in Russia.
“For me it’s definitely bad. Firstly, objectively strong teams of high international class did not make it to the tournament. Secondly, I have long been friends with many leaders of Ukrainian football, so I really wanted to see my comrades and friends. Thirdly, Ukrainian fans and leaders who came here could look at the current political situation differently. This was a chance to show that Russian people remain just as friendly and hospitable,” Koloskov said.
“Do you sincerely believe in this?” the publication clarified.
"Absolutely! Having seen everything with my own eyes, Ukrainian journalists would be forced to write what would benefit our relations,” said the former FIFA vice-president.
