Moscow is waiting for written proposals from Volker on peacekeepers in Donbass
Moscow is waiting for written proposals from Washington on the Russian draft UN Security Council resolution on the mission in Donbass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Director of the Center for Political Conjuncture Aleksey Chesnakov told Interfax.
“At the January meeting in Dubai, the Russian and American sides verbally exchanged views on further steps to implement the Minsk agreements and the specifics of the UN mission’s activities. Then, at the end of the negotiations, Russian Presidential Aide Vladislav Surkov noted that the American package of proposals “looks quite feasible,” Chesnakov said.
“Now, as was agreed in Dubai, they are waiting for the relevant documents from Kurt Volker,” the expert said.
According to Chesnakov, “oral expressions are not enough here, because we are talking about specific and carefully verified additions to the draft UN Security Council resolution introduced by Russia in September last year.”
“When written proposals from Washington from Mr. Volcker arrive, Moscow, of course, will respond in the appropriate format,” he said.
