CSTO allies were harshly criticized in Moscow
Russia must demand that its CSTO allies cease cooperation with NATO. Semyon Bagdasarov, director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Central Asia, stated this on air on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“There is such a strange NATO program - “Partnership for Peace”, which includes all the CSTO countries. They actively continue to work with our partners: conduct joint exercises, training and God knows what. Do we need this? Maybe we should invite our partners to withdraw from this program?” - said Bagdasarov.
He believes that in fact there is no alliance within the CSTO, hinting at the latest curtsies of the Kazakh authorities towards America.
“The CSTO member state provides its ports in the Caspian Sea for US logistics. Why the hell do we need such an ally? It is necessary to introduce a ban on the deployment of NATO logistics infrastructure in the CSTO countries. Why are CSTO military personnel trained at NATO? Do we not have enough military universities of our own?” - said Bagdasarov.
He also suggested deploying additional forces in Armenia as a counterbalance to US activity in Georgia, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This will be a test of its readiness to cooperate with Russia,” the expert said.
